QUEEN VICTORIA


INTRODUCTION

In this presentation, we are going to talk about the Queen Victoria.
The Queen Victoria was the second Queen of the United Kingdom and known also as Empress of India. She was born in London at May, 24th of 1819. And finally she died at January, 22th of 1901.

 1.     WHO IS QUEEN VICTORIA?

1.1 GENERAL ASPECTS:

Queen Victoria is known as Victoria, but her complete name is Alexandrina Victoria.
Queen Victoria was born in Kensington palace, London on 24th May 1819, she died on 22thJanuary 1901.

It was Queen of the United Kingdom, since the death of her uncle until the day of her death, and was also the Empress of India.

She reigned for 64 years, so it was the longest reign of the empire of Great Britain.

She was known by the industrial revolution that occurred in that time, made many changes to the act of putting the UK as the leading power in the world.


1.2: HER FAMILY
Victoria was married to Prince Albert, her cousin,  in the palace of St. James, in  10/ February/ 1840 they had nine children, who were called:


- Crown Princess Victoria
-King Edward VII
-Princess Alice
-Prince Alfred
-princess Helena
-princess Louise
-Prince Arthur
-Prince Leopold
-Princess Beatrice.


Most of her children married emperors or princes of other states that is why the European royal families are related to the British royal family.



1.3 CURIOSITIES
*      Queen Victoria was a great collector of a dolls

*      She was died because she has got “hemofilia”  and for that reason a lot of European royal
 families has got this disease, because Queen Victoria children was married with this families.

*      She is the first woman to reign in her state.

*      She was known with “Drina”, diminutive of Alexandrina.



2. HER KINGDOM


2.1.         THE BEGINNING

In the history of the United Kingdom monarchy Queen Victoria is the first woman who ascended to the throne. This is because, her uncle was not a direct descent who could assume the power. She was crowned in June, 28th of 1838.

The first international conflict that the Queen must to solve is the “Wars of Opium”. These wars were triggered because Lin Hse Tsu sent a letter to Queen Victoria asking her to finally the traffic with opium. She answered sending the Invincible Army. This answer was the origin of the wars in 1839.



2.2.         LAST YEARS OF HER LIFE


Following a practice that continued throughout her widowhood, Victoria spent his last Christmas at Osborne House, Isle of Wight. He died there, January 22, 1901, at 81years of age.

He reigned for 63 years, 7 months and 2 days, more than any other British monarch;
The funeral was held on February 2, after two days of national mourning, was buried in the Frogmore Mausoleum beside her husband.
